On polling day, complaints of fraudulent voting often arise at polling booths. To address such complaints, only a two-rupee expenditure will be required. Spending two rupees will determine whether the voter is genuine or not

For identifying fake voters in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the Election Commission has issued guidelines. It stipulates that any candidate’s agent can challenge a fake vote by obtaining a two-rupee receipt and challenging the vote. The presiding officer will then inquire about various details from the voter, including their name, father’s name, address, and the number of voters in the household. If dissatisfaction persists, the local councilor or head will be summoned to testify about the voter. If the voter proves their authenticity, they will be given the opportunity to cast their vote. However, if they fail to do so, they may be considered a bogus voter, and a case can be filed against them.
